Gochujang Jackfruit Tacos at Spirit Wind Joshua Tree | The Devil Wear’s Parsley

Photo: Natalie Wiser-Orozco

Natalie Wiser-Orozco from the food blog The Devil Wear’s Parsley was out at Spirit Wind last month shooting her new cooking video. She teaches us how to make Gochujang Jackfruit Tacos (vegan) which were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We feasted on them after the photoshoot. For those of you not familiar with it, gochujang is a sweet red chili paste that is popular in Korean cooking.

Check out the Natalie’s Spirit Wind blog post & cooking video.

Our Weather Station is LIVE at Spirit Wind Joshua Tree | Upper Friendly Hills

It’s always hard to figure out what to get Jonathan. Last XMAS I bought him a weather station for Spirit Wind, because we are always wondering about the wind speeds and how much rain we get out here in our corner of Joshua Tree. They don’t call it Spirit Wind for nothing… it gets really windy out here in the winter.

But you know how things are, we were busy and Jonathan stuck the weather station box in our shipping container and half forgot about it. Finally, this weekend (9 months later) we got the post installed and Jonathan mounted it and got it up and running.

The nearest weather stations are 2 or more miles away so we thought it would be helpful to the whole neighborhood to have a weather station in Upper Friendly Hills. With the topography, it is very common for the weather to be different in different parts of Joshua Tree. For example, yesterday it rained and we got .04 inches, but other parts of JT (like Panorama Heights) got over 2″.

The Spirit Wind weather station data is posted to Weather Underground. You can check it out here:
